Is the Bible About Me?

What changes when we stop treating every passage as a mirror and begin reading it as part of one redemptive story?

The claim

Every Bible passage is primarily a direct word about my personal circumstances.

Why we say it

We have often been taught to begin with immediate application rather than literary and redemptive context.

The text

Beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, Jesus interpreted for them the things concerning himself in all the Scriptures.

What it actually says

Luke places Christ—not the reader—at the interpretive center of Scripture’s unfolding story.

The bigger story

The many books of Scripture bear witness within one redemptive story moving toward Christ.

Christ at the center

Reading Christocentrically does not erase context. It honors where the whole canon leads.

Unlearn

The Bible is a collection of isolated messages primarily about me.

Relearn

The Bible was written for you, but it was not originally written to you.

Think about it

What might change in your reading if your first question became: How does this belong to the story fulfilled in Christ?
